Have you heard about the recently announced expansion of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)? This will take effect from October 25th, and will mean everywhere within the North and South Circular roads will be included. If you have a car that doesn’t meet the ULEZ regulations it will cost you £12.50 a day in that part of London (most of it!), and as this article in Auto Express highlights, this is likely to have some, er, interesting effects on the used car market.

So, for this week’s 5 Star Car of the Week we thought we’d try and find something that would suit somebody who needs to get out of their non-ULEZ compliant motor before the prices of compliant cars goes up. We also wanted to keep the budget down – under £5,000, and the car should be an automatic, traffic in London being what it is.

We’ve found this very promising sounding Volkswagen Polo Match 1.4 automatic on sale at a dealer in Northampton. It has a completely pristine MOT history, hence the 5 Star rating, 10 stamps in the service book and only 19,000 recorded miles.

Below is the rating we gave it, and a reminder that you can get a rating for any used car with MOT history that you’re interested in here .
